• WALE high quality abrasive cut-off wheels are available in either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide compounds.
• Silicon carbide wheels are useful for cutting glass, quartz, ceramics, titanium, tungsten, zirconium, uranium, beryllium and germanium, fiber, plastics (such as phenolics) and fiber-reinforced plastics. 
• In general, hard substances (such as fused quartz, hard metals and alloys) are most economically cut with “hard” wheels, however, “soft” wheels will give the highest quality cut in the shortest time.
