Many types of firing require the user to know the actual temperature of the firing chamber. In order to do so, a devise called a Pyrometer is used. A Pyrometer is simply a high temperature version of the thermometer.
Connected to the pyrometer is a thermocouple. This thermocouple is the temperature sensor. It’s inserted into the firing chamber. The thermocouple produces a very low voltage which changes depending upon the temperature seen at the tip of the thermocouple. This voltage is applied to the pyrometer which reacts by moving or deflecting the needle a certain amount
The analog pyrometer is available in two sizes.
2500F. It also includes an extra long thermocoupler/6ft thermo wire. The Pyrometer does not shut the firing off at the end of the firing. The sole function of the Pyrometer is to indicate temperature.
